The word Rasa means ‘taste’ in the Malay language, and this is a great place to taste the delights of north Malaysian cuisine.

Rasa Restaurant is one of the few restaurants in Langkawi offering local Malay cuisine in comfortable surroundings. Since opening in 2003 it has become extremely popular with locals and foreign tourists and recently expanded into the next door land to meet demand.

While famous as a dinner restaurant offering fresh seafood prepared in north Malaysian style, Rasa also offers a variety of western dishes and is open for breakfast and lunch.

Enjoy your meal in a wooden Malaysian style building with relaxing ambiance and décor or enjoy your meal under the stars at beautiful mahogany and marble dining tables of the style used in old Chinese coffee houses.

Breakfast starts at 8am with both western breakfasts and Asian style dishes including traditional Malaysian breakfast dishes. The restaurant remains open through brunch and lunch till 3 offering western and Malaysian dishes at reasonable cost.

Dinner is served from 6pm till 11pm. The restaurant is Malay owned and does not serve alcohol, but inexpensive iced beer is available from the adjacent supermarket.

Rasa is famous for its fresh fruit juices and hot drinks including Lavazza expresso & cappuccino coffee. The service is friendly and efficient. Rasa is situated in the heart of Pantai Cenang on the main road.

The choice is eclectic and interesting reflecting their good taste. Wooden carvings mix with beautiful clothing items, antique hand-cranked gramophones and used traditional drums & musical instruments.
