Crocodile Farm Langkawi

The centrepiece of the site is a huge and splendid statue of the reddish brown eagle after which Langkawi is named. According to local folklore "Kawi" in old Malay means reddish-brown eagle and "Lang" is the shortened term for helang (eagle). Hence Langkawi is known as the "Eagle State" The tranquillity and soft, cool sea breezes make this picturesque spot a great place for leisurely strolls or a romantic dinner in one of the nearby restaurants.
Memorial for Mahsuri, she was a fair maiden who was wrongly accused of adultery and hastily sentenced to death. Legend has it that no weapon could kill her until they used Mahsuri's own kris (traditional Malay dagger).

Built almost entirely of local timbers by local and foreign artisans, the Summer Palace resembles a traditional Thai Palace. The palace encompasses an area of 675 square metres and stands 16.6 metres high. Apart from the original movie set, a restaurant, souvenir shops and pavilion have been added.

Langkawi - Malaysian Diving ParadiseOur regulators almost dropped from our mouths as the mucky haze lifted, revealing a steep valley resembling a dazzling field of orchids blanketed with purple and white soft corals and buzzing with fish life. Bannerfish, moon wrasse and angelfish nibbled on jellyfish the size of a soccer ball, and just off the gully, the likes of queenfish, jacks, and golden trevally zoomed about.
Craft Cultural ComplexIt showcases the nation's rich craft cultural heritage. A wide collection of Malaysian handicrafts are exhibited, such as the hand-drawn batik, intricately carved silverware and the exquisitely crafted Langkawi crystal. The building is also home to the Islamic Museum, Royal Museum and Heritage Museum. There are also live demonstrations of traditional weaving methods such as songket (cloth with gold thread) and Mengkuang (pandanus leaves to create household items).
Caves of LangkawiThe Mysterious Caves of Langkawi reveals a fabulous array of stalactites. Around the cave is an abundance of trees,creepers, ferns and palms, providing a pleasant and serene environment. Stalactites and not stalagmites are predominant,with a huge serpent-like one hanging down from the roof.
Langkawi Bird ParadiseI manage to visit the Langkawi Bird Paradise and take few shots of some colurful birds during my Company's Family Day held at Langkawi on 29th August to 31st August 2004.
