Review Pelangi Beach Resort
I stayed at Pelangi Beach Resort for 10 nights and thought I was in Paradise. It is well presented, with staff that can not do enough for you. The rooms are large, with air-conditioning, and are set in beautiful, well kept grounds. There are lakes, and two large swimming pools.
I reccomend the one away from the main building, as it has fewer kids, and the bar in the pool helps too! The beach has lovely white sand, and it is very nice to go down to the beach bar at sunset. It will take your breath away.
Food in the resort can seem pricy, but there are several local eateries which serve fabulous food. We tried one just up the road which did the best fish I have ever eaten. Turn left out of the main gates, and walk along and you will see the place on you right. I think it is the 3rd or 4th place. Drinks are also expensive, but the cocktails are good. However the main bar/lounge area has only roof fans, so can be quite hot.
A short walk up the beach, and you will find the 'Bob Marley Bar'. So called because the lads who run it love Bob, but also don't mind a bit of Robbie Williams too. It is right on the beach, and the high tide laps the seats. Beer and spirits are really cheap RM 1-2 for a can. Worth a visit. The rest of the island is beautiful too, and the main town Kuah is good for a bit of shopping. But if you ever go you will see for yourself, and fall in love with the wonderful island that is Langkawi.
